Time is of the essence.

Great news for the busy and the not so motivated. More time spent exercising is not necessarily better. Anything in excess of 30 minutes appears to be of little extra benefit.

To perform best, train pm, and to lift your mood, get out there in the morning.

PS. I hope my backside is this firm when I'm 70. (I will need surgery).

The politics of Eurovision, an American perspective.

Another Eurovision came and went, with its usual mix of drag queens, disco queens and lesbian divas.

Deservedly, the talentless British crew came next to last, and my Ukrainian favourite was picked to the post.

The latest murmurs of dissent round these parts claim that the BBC's funding of the spectacle entitles us to prizes.

No doubt there is bloc voting, (Wogan would be very dull without it), and the'll be squabbles and infighting out east soon enough.

Likewise, if we want prizes, we should probably try sending a decent entry.

Statins: the latest cure all.............

Once considered a humble cholesterol lowering drug, theyr finding that statins potentially have far greater therapeutic potential.

Here is the latest, people on statins, even smokers, have a reduced incidence of lung cancer. However, I don't believe they prevent the tooth staining or the bad breath.

Being a gay professional.

Being gay and a professional has never been an issue for me, although being gay per-se has brought its moments.

I'm learning to explore and appreciate the fun there's to be had in expressing my sexuality. To enjoy the comedy it brings.

As individuals we all have different experience. Some share theirs here.

Pandora closes its lid to overseas listners.

Sad to hear that US Internet radio broadcaster Pandora are not broadcasting to listners outside the US and UK from today, due to prohibitive US licensing costs.

Pandora is different from the rest as you choose the style of music plays and the clever computer at Pandora creates a station from that genre. Sure it can get it badly wrong, but you can influence the playlist and improve things. Its phenomenal how much music they have, and 'for Free'.

Sorry folks.

Opera Holland Park

Having thought there wasnt much going on in London before I came, back, and certainly not enough sunshine to enjoy anything outdoors, Ive been pleasantly surprised to be wrong. Part of this my be due to global warming, but part is also due to Opera holland Park who have a few familiar works and a few I've never seen, this summer in Kensington.

The crazy thing is that despite there being multiple performances, Ive looked at my roster, and I can only make a few!
